CHECK FOR OVERLAPPING REFLECT DATE PERIODS

A basic rule of the Group Buy System is that one or more deals with the same Item Code or Codes cannot have Reflect Date Periods that overlap. The system edits for this condition after the Book Id has been assigned to the deal sheets. 

It is at this point that the system can test (requires clicking on the Check Overlapping Dates function) for the one possible exception to the overlapping Reflect Date rule. The conditions for this exception are:

• Deal has the same Item Code or Codes on one or more deal sheets
• One Deal Sheet has a Group Buy Book Id assigned but no TPR book assigned
• Another Deal Sheet has a TPR Book Id assigned for the same Item Code or Codes but no Group Buy Book Id assigned
• The deals have Reflect Date Periods that overlap each other
• The overlapping TPR deal may be a long term or standing TPR spanning the entire or more than one Group Buy Program period.

When this exception case does occur, the Group Buy Team has the option to override the Alert condition caused by the overlap of dates. Conversely, the condition may be handled as any other overlapping date condition.

Click the Deal Maintenance menu option to expand the menu and click on the Check Overlapping dates menu option. Click Check Overlapping dates option. The system performs the overlapping reflect date edit and returns the findings as shown above. 

Deal sheets without overlapping reflect date conflicts are not listed.

Deal sheets with overlapping reflect date conflicts are listed as a set. The bulleted deal sheet or sheets are the deals in conflict with the first deal in the set. All deals are hyperlinked so that when clicked the deal sheet will display on the Group Buy View page.
